5 Tips to accommodating guests in a small space

Whether it is for a social gathering or a simple get together, many of us want to welcome our friends and family into our homes. However, if you have a small space, having guests can be a little tricky and might be a problem if you don’t know how to maximize your space. We all want to give our guests a pleasant stay and make them as comfortable as possible. Thankfully, there are a lot of ways to maximize your space by adding a little bit of creativity. You may want to change your setup and furniture a little in order to do this.

Here are five tips for accommodating guests in a small space.

1. Use wall hooks or wall-mounted clothing rack instead of closets.

If you are living in a small apartment but want to save more space, having a wall-mounted rack instead of closets can definitely help you big time. Closets tend to consume more space than you want it to be so it would be a good idea if you have a wall hook where you can make some space for hangers. The space that is supposed to be consumed by a closet can be space where you can put some chairs or couch to hang out with your friends.

2. Use a folding bed or air mattress

If you are inviting friends over for an overnight stay, you can always make use of a folding bed or an air mattress for your guests. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t take up so much space and it can be placed anywhere you want it to be. It doesn’t have to be in your bedroom. And when your overnight party is over, you can just fold it and place it somewhere where you can easily access them for future use.

3. Invest in space saving the furniture.

You might not need it now, but owning one is a great investment especially if you are fond of having guests for a sleepover. Consider a couch that can be doubled as a bed as well as a storage space. Not only will you have a space to place your stuff, you can also have your guests comfortably sleep there if necessary. There are also cabinets that can be doubled as tables or beds that can be folded into the wall which can definitely give you more space.

4. Move your things around

You don’t really need to change your furniture if you can maximize your space by moving things around. You may only need to rearrange everything in order to accommodate your guests.

5. Don’t be afraid to use the floor.

You can always go for a boho-themed gathering by making use of some pillows and mats on your floor. Take your party on the floor to maximize your space. You would be surprised how fun things can be when you hang out with your guests on the floor. It’s a little cozier and you don’t have to worry about anything else.
