How to clean wall oven – 4 Really simple Tips

If you are an avid cook and mostly rely on the oven, you have to clean it once in three months, but if you seldom use it, you may go for once or twice a year cleaning round. Commercial oven cleaners

There are different cleansers available in the store, and you can pick the one that is not too harsh for your oven. When you have successfully selected a cleaner, empty your oven and take every stored thing out from it. Set aside pizza stones and foil.  Pull the racks out and soak in soapy water. Now, spray the cleaner in the oven and turn the timer ON for about half an hour. Before spraying, don’t forget to wear rubber gloves and goggles to prevent any damage.

When the timer is gone, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and gently scrub the hardened spots. You will see, your oven is shining just like a newly bought.

Baking soda and vinegar

If you don’t want to use store-bought cleaners, there are natural sterilizers too that can equally brighten up your oven without any hazardous fumes. You can spread baking soda paste over the oven’s surface and see the magic.

To do this, take about a half cup of baking soda and mix in 3-4 tsp of water or mix water unit thick and spreadable paste is ready. Now spread it in the oven with a paintbrush, particularly on dried food leftovers, and let it there overnight or for at least 12 hrs. After this time, wipe the surface with a moist towel pad. To remove the dried baking soda, take half a cup of white vinegar and add in about two cups of water. Spray this liquid over the dried soda that will fume up. Wipe it again, and at the end, clear the surface with a dampened cloth.

Use lemons for wall oven cleaning 

Using lemons to sterilize the oven is also an effective and easy way. It needs about an hour, and there would be no need to take racks out of the fixed oven. Juice two lemons in a baking dish and fill it to 1/3. Place in the oven and set a timer for 30 minutes. When this time is gone, turn the oven off and let it cool down. When it is touchable, take a rubber spatula and slightly rub the dirt or grease with it. Now clean the space with a moist towel, and you are done with the cleaning job.

Run self-cleaning cycle 

If you are busy enough and cannot give a few hours to clean your oven, the self-cleaning feature is there to help you out from this problem. Most of the models now have this in-built feature to clean the oven with just a press but this self-cleaning works to the best if the oven is moderately dirty or greasy.

When you press the self-clean button, the doors get locked, and the temperature rises to about 550oC. This high temperature helps to loosen the dirty patches and dried chunks that you can clear by wiping the surface. You have to be careful in reopening the doors when this clean-up mission is done and wait to touch until it is cooled.
