Shower Upgrades on a Budget

The bathroom is one part of the house that people tend to leave behind when remodeling their homes.  Yet it is possible to get a new look without spending too much money.  There are so many things you can do, including new shower curtains, replacing old tiles, smart storage ideas, among others.   We will look at a few ideas you can implement for a totally different look and feel for your bathroom.

Change the Shower Curtains

Getting new shower curtains will give your bathroom an instant makeover.   Experiment with colors and patterns for an updated look. Take into consideration the color of your tiles as a guide to buying the curtains.  If you have patterned or tiles with flowers, you should consider neutral curtains to avoid clashing of colors.

Use rods to hang the curtains for a classier look.

Change Your Shower Head

You will find many options, including handheld showerheads, and those that will help conserve water, by regulating the pressure.  If you are fine with what you currently have, a proper cleaning job will make it look as good as new.  Get rid of mineral deposits,   water stains, and rust using what you have at home. Vinegar is an excellent cleaning agent, and so is warm water and soap.

Shower Caddy

Most showers are very basic places without sufficient storage space.  You will most probably not have a place to put your shampoo, soap, and conditioner.  It gets especially tricky if you are sharing the space with other people. A shower caddy will solve that problem for you.  Get one that fits into your shower well so that it does not intrude into the already limited space.

You could also consider wall-mounted dispensers for your shampoos conditioners and shower gels.

Change Old Tiles

Due to the aging process or usage, tiles may crack, fade, or chip.  They can become a danger, and you will also have to contend with mold that will grow on the wall and floor due to the moisture.  By replacing such tiles, you will give your bathroom a fresh new Look.  It will also help you avoid having to deal with further damage.

Find Trendy Towel Bars

You can find unique looking towel bars that will not cost you an arm and a leg.   If you do not have the space for a bar, you can check out some hooks that you can mount tastefully.   Get creative by using a wine rack or small ladder to hang towels.

Mirror frames

Bring out your creative side by trying out DIY mirror frames.  You will find great tutorials online for decorative ideas, especially if you have never done it before.

 Final Thoughts

Upgrading your bathroom does not need to be something you put off for when you have some extra cash.  There are some great ideas you can implement.  Check out our tips above and go ahead and give your bathroom a new look.
